LOOK AT ME! PITY ME! HEY, I AM RIGHT HERE!
When it comes to me I have a public life and a personal life. Some of you just think you have a personal life. 'Personal' to you means that you won't share private information with the people you personally know, but you will tell the world. I use the phrase 'tell the world' because that is what you do when you post something on the internet, also known as THE WORLD WIDE WEB. I guess with you it's not called a 'Public' and 'Personal' life, but a 'Real Life' and an 'Internet Life.' The question I always ask, as always, is, 'where do you draw the line?' Some of the things I see online make me wonder what you won't tell. I read about a girl who read about a mental disorder then started to think that she had that disorder. The next thing she did was log onto Melo and announce that she may have this disorder--she gave the reasons why, and she seemed to be really smart to me, which makes me wonder if she knew that most people with that problem would not be aware of it and would not be proud to put it online. She even talked about being sexually assualted as a child (another thing I don't think people would put out to the world.). Are you just looking for attention or do you really think someone on Melo will have the answer to your disorder?
1. I am bipolar/histrionic/enter-name-of-disorder-here ______
2. I Want to Die
3. Nobody Loves Me
4. I Am Depressed
5. Should I Leave Him?
Let's be real about it and just tell the truth. Do you have a real problem or are you just looking for the spotlight to shine on you? Why on earth would you go to people you know nothing about and get advice on what to do with your depression, boyfriend, or if you're having suicidal thoughts--those are things that you should really talk about with someone who knows you well, someone who will be better able to come to your aid or even set an intervention. When you post it online, it's the same thing as taking candy from a stranger, something that we are all taught not to do as kids. Even though the candy looks good, smells good, and is offered to you with a smile, it comes with more a much higher price than you want to pay. Its the same thing as getting advice from people who really don't know your situation. You might as well have flagged down a stranger at a bus stop and asked him for advice. But people online get wrapped up in the character that you have created, not the real you, and that is the person they are advising. And you are taking that advice and applying something that was not really meant for your real situation and who you really are.
What will stop this bullshit? I think the first thing that needs to be done is for people to QUIT POSTING YOUR PERSONAL LIFE ONLINE. The next one is to quit feeding the beast. Call them on their bullshit and watch how they retreat. I am not crazy, I know we all want to help people, but to tell you the truth, you are not a doctor and you probably don't have a dagree in psychology; and even though you watch a lot of Dr.Phil, you really don't know what these people should be doing about their problems. The internet emo will never go away, but the best advice that you could give is
"I hope that everything will work out, but you should talk to someone close to you, someone who truly knows about this problem."
I know I may be thinking of a perfect world. Most of you will just add to the drama because it entertains you and at the end of the day that is really all that matters to everyone.

I Am Not a Doctor But I Play One in Real Life.
Let's start with those who self-diagnose (or does the act of diagnosing, at all) without a degree. I understand wanting to give advice and helping out a friend, but the question I tend to always ask people is, "Where do you draw the line?" When will you stop being so sure that you KNOW exactly what you're saying, and tell someone go see a doctor. In some cases, when will you stop googling the disorder that interests you the most and giving yourself symptoms? I got one for you look up it's called Munchausen Syndrome.
The lowest of the low are those Melo members who claim to have a disorder or a traumatic problem and broadcast it on their pages because it gets them hits, touches and/or bangs. Have you assholes ever thought about the people who really have the problems you are merely claiming to have? The people who are stuck in a life that has a lot pain? But all you think about is how it's cool to get attention when you pretend to be 'bipolar.' Faking 'depression' makes you happy because people treat you more special. Someone truly dealing with a disorder has real shit to deal with in life. I don't think they handle their real problems by posting a blog titled "I Am Bipolar" or " I am sucidal."
Why don't we see people on Melo advertising their herpes? Or something like,"OMG I HAVE CRABS?" I dont see why on earth you would want to advertise your personal life to strangers as it is. I know a lot of people on Melo think that they are making real friends here but most of you are sharing a lot of info that we don't need to hear.
Lets look at some classic crazy people out there. We can all agree that Charles Manson is crazy, but one of the main things that show he's crazy is that he does not identify his actions as such. People who may be looked at as normal are crazy to him. Being insane is a 'normal' way of life for him that he sees those of us living and thinking conventionally as the ones who are sick in the head. When crazy people hear voices they think the voices are really there. Don't get being crazy confused with being a dumbass like you really are.

SLEEPING WHILE BLACK
"I say our society has lost its finesse"
ABC has a show called "What Would You Do" in which they challenge people's morals by putting them in real-life difficult/compromising situations and seeing how they would react and act on it. I don't think the situations are moraly challenging, but I think a lot of Americans are ball-less. I could never just walk by a crime and not do anything. I don't think I would stop them myself 100% of the time, but I would at the very least call the cops. If I had my phone, I would take pictures--I would do something. I have been a victim of crime before, and I know the feeling. I would do anything I could to not have someone else go through it.
I was really disgusted by the woman who said she had witnessed a crime before but will never speak up again because of all the time she had to take off from work, and the long drive downtown to be a serve as the case's 'witness'. I hope she becomes the victim of a crime, and has to depend on a eyewitness to get justice, and restitution. You won't help someone out because of the drive and your job? She must not know the story of Spiderman and how Uncle Ben was killed all because Peter did not do his civic duty.
The white people in the second clip straight up sucked. I think most of them are just not being honest at all. They say that they would call no matter what, but come on, just watch the difference.
White kids are beating the hell out of car, out in the open, in plain sight, and they got ONE call to the police. Three black kids are asleep in a car and they got TWO calls to the police. What can black people do that won't warrant a call to the police. "Walking while Black" has been a crime for sometime now, but it is still a lesser offense than "Driving while Black." What is the maximum punishment on "Sleeping while Black?"
This project showed how people don't really react on the crime or the immoral actions going on but on skin color. You can't argue the numbers on this one. Black kids sleeping got more 911 calls than white kids destroying a car. Same crime, same place, and the only difference was skin color. If you think that racism is no longer a problem, paint your face black, and try to take a nap in your car.

Dear Stupid People
There is nothing interesting on this Melo profile at all. You will find nothing that will make you laugh or drool or whatever it is you stupid people do to express good feelings. If you are stupid, PLEASE PLEASE at all cost avoid the little un-fun box marked G-spots. You have better things to do with your time like lick windows or ponder the mysteries of the universe, like why does the square peg not fit in the round hole.
OMG WHAT IS THAT BEHIND YOU!
Dear Smart People
The Stupid people forgot that they were online ,and probably started chasing their tails. Now that I have your attention, I hope you will enjoy my page and keep acting your age. If you don't like my page please just go to one you do like, Its not very hard. I'll bet to the left of your screen you will see plenty of pages you will like.

and i do mean thanks for telling me....i knew it in my heart but its great to know for sure that hes been cheating for a while
HAHAHAHA!
your introduction is great, as well as your posts. I'll try to keep an eye out on you. :)
Hahaha. That makes me laugh. But as I was writing that gspot, I was mentally going over my melo for evidence of what you were criticising, and I thought, welp, the only really super whiny entry I have made lately is in my FO, so therefore it is not available to be critiqued. lol. I get a lot of flak for NOT being personal online, but I do not want people to know who I am. If I forget myself, I usually go back and privatise it after I remember.
I think people dun like being called stupid, which you can't blame them for. As regards mental conditions, I was amazed to find out that there are many younger people who do not even know what schizophrenia is, for example. They might describe to you that they hear things, but they have no understanding that this is not necessarily normal, so when a melo kid talks about illnesses and such, I dun think it's always a case of wanting attention. People just often don't really know what's going on with themselves. And so many of them suffer from appalling home situations that their lives are like train wrecks. And then, of course, you have the malicious ones who are mean and evil but still operate intellectually on the level of plankton. hahaha. People are just a trip. :)
It's good to know that someone feels the same way. It has been a while since I wrote on here. MANY people got mad about that blog.
I agree with you here. I read things that just make me cringe. I also read minute details of things that just make me want to pass out before I can get away from them. I see people professing COMPLETE and utter empathy 5 minutes after meeting some melo user. The people who put their issues online so publicly, however, are the last to want to hear any constructive advice. They usually just want people to suck up to them. Meh. You got me started. Shutting up now.

I try to encourage people to use Melo to say things they can't say elsewhere. I know for me in particular it's therapeutic. It's not exactly "public", there's a series of friends only posts, private entries, not-for-public accounts, secret accounts, and a million levels of what information you share with what people.
Besides, most people on here are behind a pseudonym anyways. :)
