The walk I never took

Walks are good for us. It is a basic form of exercise and it allows us to sometimes clear our heads.

I take walks to escape... I follow my thoughts and where they lead me. Sometimes its 1 mile, sometimes it can be 5-6. Always I return.

The walk I never took was the one I needed to take when I was upset with a friend. I should have walked and cooled down, instead I acted on my emotion. You hurt me, you showed that the only reason you were friends with me was all your other friends did not like hanging around you because you are a drama queen. You only attach yourself to people if there is some form of gain for you in it.

The walk I should have taken maybe would have spared the hatred, the anger and the pain.

Maybe it would have prolonged the inevitable.

The more I thought about your drama, the more I realized why your family does not call you much nor do you call them much.... they just do not want to deal with your drama.

So I am taking the walk I should have taken..... the walk that should have happened in the fall of 2006 when all this bs started.

My Freedoms I celebrate this 4th

My freedoms were created by our Fore-Fathers, defended by soldiers in the past, all answering the call of duty. All of them men and women of Honor, Dignity, and inner strength. Some of them did not come home. They paid for yours and my freedom with blood.

Today we have men and women serving those Freedoms for which we take for granted. I have the freedom to post my opinion, to choose things, to vote, to respectfully dis-agree with my government and to enjoy various forms of media.

I can do that because there are men and women who wear a uniform, earn meager pay but will repel and defy anyone who challenges my freedoms.
Some may pay the ultimate price and I PRAY none have to.

I say to all who have served, and those serving, THANK YOU FOR MY FREEDOMS!

And to those who are married to those who have served and are serving, THANK YOU FOR GIVING YOUR SPOUSE MORE STRENGTH!!!!!

I ask all of you to thank those who defend your freedoms, the next time you see a soldier, THANK THEM! Hell, buy them lunch or at least a cup of coffee!!!!

Ode to My Father

You scared me the other day. Superman is only affected by kryptonite and there is none around.

You wanted me in the world, and I was born. You taught me how to spell when I was young, you were involved in my upbringing and you instilled in me the gift I try to instill in everyone I meet. Honest friendship, be self reliant, live a good life and take responsibility for things in your life.

I have made a few friends who know at a moments notice I will come to their aid.

I have made a few enemies who do not like me. You taught me how to forgive them and pray for them, for their path in life might be difficult and they need our prayers.

Digital moments of our Analog Life

I was inspired by a Gspot from DemonicTrigger.

Our lives are governed by father time, 86,400 seconds a day - all one right after another, tick tock tick tock, like solders marching in parade, they pass us by. We enhance our lives with digital plugins since analog is sequential and digital you can flip the 1's and 0's to change things.

Some enhancements mean your analog life is paired to another analog life and you hope the tick tock is not too far out of sync. Other times you try to sync up and they are ahead of you, or behind you but never in step WITH you.

As time marches forward, we sometimes use our powers of digital to review the past. Sometimes we are reminded of good times, others not so good.

Our brain has been gifted with the ability to block out analog time frames of extreme bad times. Think of it like setting a clock forward a few hours then stopping the clock till the worlds time catches up and you resume your tick tock. To the world some bad event happened in your life, to you, its a vague memory.

The joyous times our lives we can relive over and over as we can roll back the playback, yet never lose time in our lives.

To fallen Heroes

The sirens and bells sing all hours of the day and night, you respond.
The towers were attacked and you ran into the fire while others ran out. Some of you did not come out.

A cat gets stuck in a tree and you show up. You race towards danger without regard to skin color, creed or geographical location in your city. You are TRUE HEROES.

I pray for the families of those who have fallen trying to save others, their unselfish sacrifice allowed someone to live. No greater gift can be given than that.

I pray for all Heroes that jump to life when the sirens / bells sound out that those very same sirens and bells stay silent forever. That your days are spent hanging out with children, teaching them that you are there for them always.

Peace be with you always.

To the child living on the street

I am sorry you have to live that way, truly I am. I wish I could give you a better life but all I can do is try to make things better for you. I pray for you and your family to have a better life. A child should not have to know hardship.

Each day I wake up and hope the world got a little better while I slept. I ask myself what can I do to make things better? I volunteer to help out at soup kitchens, I even spend 1 day a week at the local animal shelter because animals seem to complete the lives of others. I know the one grandmother I knew when I was young was always accompanied by our Russian Blue cat. Call me weird and I know one or two of you might but was that cat really one of my ancestors in cat form watching over my grandmother?

I have not always followed all the points mentioned but the feeling you get from helping someone without receiving anything in return is immeasurable!

We all have problems, we deal with them the best we can, hell we even post about them here for others to read and post comments about. But I dare you to tell me that your problems are more important than those of a child on the street with their mother begging for food / money or the ones you see in a homeless shelter?

We are citizens of the world, the air we breathe once existed over another continent. Fixing your own problems starts by understanding them, fixing the worlds problems starts by saying " I will help". Not doing anything to help removes your right to complain about them, make snotty comments about them or ridicule them.

In fact I hope that those who ridicule people who are having misfortunes in their lives at some point get a taste of those very same misfortunes so they can understand what it is they make fun of !
