Barack Obama's Cairo Speech

As you may know, Obama is in the Middle East trying to repair the relationship between Muslims and Americans. Personally, I think his speech was great. Maybe it wasn't one for the history books, maybe nothing too memorable was said but overall I think he did a great job. I know that the Muslims aren't going to drop everything over night and neither are the Americans but it's all about taking a step forward and continuing that walk.

I like the part where he said something along the lines of Americans need to get rid of their stereotypes of Muslims but in order for that to happen Muslims need to do the same about Americans to make things fair.

He's such a peaceful, optimistic guy. I adore him. :)

Brian Williams and Barack Obama

I loved that special but then again I have love for Obama and massive amounts of love for Brian Williams. Honestly, I don't think any other reporter could have done a better job. He's cheery when he needs to be, serious when he needs to be and he makes you feel like you are literally the most important person in the room. He's just that badass.

I also love Obama's views on the whole gay marriage issue saying that it should not be the federal government's business about other people's marriages. It never has been their priority and it never should be.

And their dog, Beau? What a cutie!

New Hampshire: 6th State To Let Gays Wed

It's progress.

A step in the right direction BUT there are certain restrictions. While gays are now allowed to marry, there are people complaining that they'll have to cooperate with the married gays. Religious groups don't have to marry the gays or accept them into their religion. <- That's part of the law. That doesn't suprise me much but the part where florists and photographers are complaining about how they don't want to be forced to help them out with their weddings is ridiculous.

It's like they want discrimination to be legalized.

Like I said, it's a step in the right direction but the bigots are going to keep fighting for what they want. I feel like they're losing the battle which gives me a fuzzy, happy feeling on the inside.

O'Reilly Suddenly Distancing Himself From Past Remarks About Tiller

Gee, I wonder why he's doing that...

On Monday, Bill O'Reilly boldly defended his vicious attacks on the late Dr. George Tiller. "No backpedaling here," he told viewers. "Everything we said about Tiller was true."

Two days later, it seems O'Reilly is, in fact, backpedaling. On Tuesday night he claimed his previous references to George Tiller as "the baby killer" were merely standard reporting.

"I reported what groups were calling him. I reported accurately." The host then went on to 'report' the number of abortions Tiller had performed and estimated the doctor's income at a million dollars a year. (O'Reilly is paid over $10 million a year.)

America Is Looking Grim

GM filing for bankruptcy as thousands of jobs are lost and not the only major company doing this.
Budget cuts hurting schools and health programs.
Not all Americans being entitled to their rights i.e. gays not allowed to wed.
The murder of an abortion doctor by a pro life supporter. It's in the name PRO-LIFE. If you're pro life I don't think you should be taking away lives. Hypocritcal much? It's not like the fetuses can't go to a better cause.

The world needs more open-minded people. This shit is getting ridiculous. Our economy is in the shits because of a close-minded bigot.

Now, the country looks to an open-minded soul to magically fix everything and gets pissed when everything is not fixed the next day.

It's starting to get to me...

I Think It's Impossible To Bring Obama Down

After Globe magazine spread the rumor that Michelle was trying to hush some man who claims to be Obama's secret lover, Obama replied with a joke.

Saying: "One of them said, 'Obama, keep your promise,' and I thought that's fair," he said. "I don't know which promise he was talking about."

Nothing gets this guy down. All that happens is that conservatives look like jealous high school girls spreading bogus rumors.

Like the one about Sonia Sotomayer? How they claim that she's racist or how they think the only reason Obama chose her was so the Republican party would be humiliated and considred racist for bashing her. So, they decided that she's racist.

holy shit, I get to work today right? my supervisor takes one look at me and says, "what the hell is wrong with you? You are red!" and Jelisa walks up to me and Eduardo is like, "doesn;t she look red?" and they are looking at my arms and face and neck and both of them agree that something is wrong. Then eduardo says, "you are as red as a lobster!" so now we're thinking that I am having an allergic reaction to one of my new meds :(
