Meloversary 2006

This year we celebrated the monumental 5 year anniversary of the Melodramatic.com community with 7 weeks of deadly sins. While we tried to document each event for your viewing pleasure, sometimes things got a little out of hand and no one remembered to pull out a camera. (Anyone get any pictures from LUST?)

A big thank you goes out to Johnny for all of the incredible, sinful artwork that he did for the 7 weeks of events. You can see all of Johnny's 7 Deadly sins work here.

We finished off the the weeks of sinning with the infamous annual Meloversary party, and this one was by far our best party yet.

A good, infamous, diabolical friend of mine -- Travis -- flew out from Florida with his girlfriend Katy and friend Will. We started the weekend off with a VIP trip to the dance club LAX in Hollywood and a re-visit to the LUST evening strip club, The Body Shop.

Being the awesome ballers that they are, Travis and Will ended up funding the Go-Go Dancers and the Sound System for the Meloversary party, and for that we shall all forever be grateful. Thanks guys! We'll make it up to you with a kicking Florida party soon. :)

So, the bartender showed up around 8:00pm and he was super professional and helpful. His name was Doug, courtesy of our helpful Hollywood party engineer Charlie. The girls and the sound came from the amazing power of Travis & Will's Titanium American Express card. A team of chicks in Toronto worked all day Saturday to hustle up the appropriate party favors. So cool. Titanium4Life.

Somehow by like 10:00pm someone grabbed me and told me there was a kid really sick out front. I went out and there were all these people standing around this positively yellow kid laying down. They said they'd already called an ambulance, and the party had just started!

I talked to the kid and told him the dancers were about to go on and he kinda perked up a little, but unluckily for him the fire truck and the ambulance were there and he got whisked away. :)

The party started hopping by 10:30, even though we had some music problems with the iPod and one of the turntables wasn't putting out, Jason and Ryan and Canaan ended up doing an amazing job.

My house doesn't have any closed rooms except the bathroom, it's sort of a lofty open floor plan, so we ended up having to sequester the mezannine from thru-traffic for about 20 minutes while the girls changed. Michael and Tyler helped guard the downstairs entrance while I guarded the roof. An extra thanks goes to those two guys for their incredible help with the parking situation out front. We had cones and everything! Next time maybe I'll spring for valet.

As soon as the girls were ready we had to rush to find something for them to dance on, and the pool table looked like the sexiest spot. We pushed it up against the wall, threw a big rug down over it, and the party really started.

One of my favorite songs was Celebrate by Daft Punk. I remember as soon as that came on and the girls were dancing, the room got flooded with people, all dancing and jumping and singing. I really wanted to celebrate this anniversary, and by god at that moment I really did. :)

The girls really helped to get the dancing going, and from that moment on there were people swing dancing, grinding, slow dancing, and having a great time on the dance floor. It really worked out, I can't wait to reorganize and facilitate girls in cages and on poles to free up more dance area for next time. :)

A big thanks goes out to Art for bringing the hookahs, and setting up the BBQ outside for consistant hot coals. I didn't get much time to chill with the back patio hookah smokers but I did drop in for a second and blew a couple rings, and I remember them being delicious.

Sometime during the night one of my neighbors I had never met ended up crashing the party in boxer shorts and a sheet. It kinda looked like a robe so everyone called him "the robe guy", even though he was down to his boxers very quickly. :) Cameron ended up making out, dancing on the pool table, showing off his cock, and for all of these reasons he was voted this year's MVP, even though he's not a member. Cameron, fucking register already so I can link to you.

Late in the night the poker game on the roof really started going on, and for a while we had so many people up there my neighbors told me I should usher some of them off because we don't know the weight capacity. :) Next time I'll have to reserve the roof as VIP and cash-game players only.

All in all, I had a wonderful fucking night. A big thanks goes out to Jeff & Marcus too for helping me keep the party going, tipping the bartender and handling the immediate cash situation as we needed it. And everyone else who handled a situation, went on a liquor run, tipped a go-go dancer, or had a great fucking time, thank you too.

I can't wait for next Meloversary. Gotta step it up a notch. Again.

Much Love, Sara
Johnny Nelson draws and makes funny faces like a rockstar. Melodramatic Go-Go Girls get the Party Started. Nate Kettlewell and Johnny Nelson are fucking crazy guys at parties. The boys raise their arms in praise as the Go Go girls come down the stairs. Everyone's on the roof hanging out at the Poker table at the Melo Party. Put your arms up if you're having a good time! Sara's neighbor Cameron gets on his knees for a dollar bill. Robert and Becky are getting it on on the dance floor. Blunt smokin crew gettin ready. Sara and Jeff, the hosts of the party.
