The sight of a thousand mermaids gasping for breath on a beach is a rare site to behold. They begin to breath the air as their lungs begin to adjust to their new environment like that of a baby's first breaths of life outside the womb. They've calmed down and curiously look around and begin to speak in a song like language. I try to talk to them not knowing if they will understand me and to my surprise one of the mermaids is speaking English and she tells me her name is Talas, and they have come ashore to find a mate. For their mermen went to fight in a great undersea battle against a fearsome foe and did not return home to them and that many long months have passed and no trace of them were found. What I see she says is all that is now left of there clan a thousand, a thousand she weeps I reach out to comfort her but holding her sea-cold hands gives me shivers and just as she begins to speak again I notice a large group of men coming towards us and than the mermaids begin to scream and cry and sing for it is there men whom they thought were lost forever living on our shore unknown to us you might have even passed them by a suffer dude in disguise riding the wave and walking the sands. The mermen begin to explain why they did not return ... in short they thought their mermaids were dead and could not bear to be at home at the bottom of the sea without them. By this time the men were now changing back to their true form and pair up as they swim back out to sea together but before Talas dissapears into the deep she whispers in my ear the whereabouts of a secret hidden treasure trove.
