I've probably posted this before, but it's St. Patrick's Day!

Up up update
Its 9:30. Been at work since 6:30. Done an hours worth of work.
What I'm doing is working at the music department for some music testing thing. We set up the rooms with pianos, chairs, tables, etc... then babysit the building till they're done. Then we clean up.
Yay. For the past 2 hours I've been paid to watch The Big Lebowski, drink coffee, and write on melo.
I know I haven't updated much at all here, but I haven't had the time to think about melo. Getting ready for my senior recital in May, spring break tour (to Mammoth) and vacation (back to Florida). Been riding my bike as much as I can. Since I got the bike (back in September if I recall) I've lost about 25 lbs. I'm aiming for 165ish I think, but the bottom line is I just want to be fast.
Feel free to hit me up on AIM, I'll be around all day.

Goings on
So I've been working on an arrangement of the song Soul Eyes today. Going well, hopefully will finish it tomorrow.
Saw Eddie Izzard this past Friday night, it was very much excellent. Worth every penny, especially since it was part of my christmas gift and I didn't spend any money. Seriously though, you should be jealous.
I fell a bit short of my 300 mile per month goal for this first month of the year, but we had a week of rain. I think I shall punish myself for missing the mark by going up GMR once again tomorrow morning.
What else, what else... oh. I haven't been practicing nearly as much as I should be. I keep slacking off and do nothing. Not good.
I guess that's all for now.

Long Term Goal
http://www.levisgranfondo.com
I aim to do the hardest one, the Gran Fondo. It would be one hell of a ride. Here is some info from the site regarding the ride.
"The GranFondo route is an amazing journey of grandeur amongst the towering and enchanted forests that flank the base of King Ridge. The route then climbs out of the depths of Cazadero into one of the most breathtakingly beautiful expanses of terrain with incredible rolling ridgetop views of nearby mountains, ridges, valleys and of course the vast Pacific Ocean.
After cresting King Ridge Road you are in for whipping descents and the rolling profiles of the coastal roads until you make your way back towards Occidental and eventually Santa Rosa by way of Coleman Valley Road.
No matter who you are or what you have riden, this ride and these places will leave you forever changed, and appreciative for the time you spent there, however long or brief they may be.
GranFondo 103 Miles, 6,500′ of climbing
* The GranFondo is the big one! Levi will be taking riders up and over his favorite training grounds for a once-in-a-lifetime experience on a well-supported route. If you are planning on doing this ride you need to be fit. King Ridge is as challenging as it is beautiful."
Scary.

Kurt Vonnegut
Strapped for cash in the mid-1950s, Kurt Vonnegut took a job at Sports Illustrated, though he "didn't care or know squat about sports."
They asked him to write a piece on a racehorse that had jumped the fence at the local track.
He fed a page into his typewriter, stared at it for several hours, typed "The horse jumped over the fucking fence" and left.
If this is true, it just further cements Mr. Vonnegut as one of the greatest humans ever.

Time
I'm sitting in the library looking out the window looking at a very large hill. Or very tiny mountain. I don't know.
I like to try and grasp how long it took for it to reach the point it is at today, growing little by little over the eons. Imagine entire lifetimes flashing by in the blink of an eye, even then it probably wouldn't look like the hill was growing very fast.
I don't think that humans can really understand numbers of that magnitude. Quick, count to a million (If you want to see a million numbers: http://tinyurl.com/awvwl4). Ok, that's actually not quick, but I'm going somewhere with this.
After you count to a million, do it 1,000 more times. Now you are at a billion. Do that 3 and a half more times and you're at the age of the earth.
4,500,000,000 years
That's 4,500 millions. Jeeeeez.
Still, inconceivable.
I also try to picture infinity in my head. A never ending tunnel of never ending tunnels. It just keeps going, whenever you think you're nearing the end, you're not. You're in the middle, you can't approach infinity.
And then there's stuff like Quantum Entanglement and the Copenhagen Interpretation.
Every once-in-a-while I have to remind myself that I have no bloody idea what's really going on.
Do you?

Greatest Detective of All Time
That's right, its Columbo. Sherlock Holmes can lick a dick. Adrian Monk is a basket case. Law & Order ain't got shit on Lt. Columbo. Jessica Fletcher? Bitch please. Hercule Poirot is a nobody! Jim Rockford is cool, but not in the same league.
Lt. Columbo is untouchable.

Yes indeed, but as I'm nearing graduation and getting quite busy, I'm starting to think it could be hard. Not the miles... just finding the time. :/
I'm sure he's still crying somewhere...and it's Monday. He should play in the Kleenex Bowl!
Oh I know I can handle it, I'm just not looking forward to it--especially since I thought my flight was at 9:30!
I don't think melo would feel right without that scary feeling that your totally awesome post just might disappear.
Skiing was fun! I need to get back into it more...if I get good again, like I was, I can probably teach both and make more moolah. Which is always awesome...
Thanks :o)
Yeah, I was shaken up, luckily not hurt (just a bit sore from stress and tensing up). Halloween helped to relax, that's for sure. :o)
How was your Halloween, by the way? And how's Girl?
